SPA and wellness centre, Maya Blue Wellness at Titanic Hotel Liverpool has launched a range of treatments suitable for those who are receiving, or have received, medical care for cancer. Therapists from the spa have undergone training to enhance their current skillset with the ESPA Training Academy and the Amethyst Trust, a specialised training facility that enables spas to welcome people with experiences of cancer.
Molly Stoll and Sophie Bolland, two members of the Maya Blue Wellness team, were assessed across three days on the accredited Standards Authority for Touch in Cancer Care (SATCC) course, learning theory and practical techniques to safely perform and adapt the nurturing treatments, plus consultation skills to ensure safe planning and an understanding of medical terminology.

Two female bat-eared foxes have arrived at Chester Zoo - the first of their kind to be seen at the zoo in more than 30 years.
The two sisters, Maasai and Malindi, travelled more than 500 miles from Paris, France.
The African foxes are known for their ‘enormous ears’ which stand at more than five inches tall.
Zoo experts say that, in future, they plan to introduce one of sisters to a male fox and go on to play a vital role in the conservation breeding programme that is working to safeguard the species.

A new outdoor seating policy supporting hospitality businesses throughout the city has been launched by Liverpool City Council.
The policy will help establishments create vibrant outdoor spaces with lively, welcoming café culture hubs - while ensuring public spaces remain safe, inclusive, and accessible for everyone.
The new policy introduces clear and flexible guidelines for obtaining a pavement licence, in line with road safety, public access, and the requirements of the Business and Planning Act 2020.
As part of the licencing for outdoor furniture, rules ensure that footpaths and public areas remain clear to allow for safe and unhindered pedestrian movement.

Liverpool City Council is sending out a warning to all drivers in the city to kill their speed, as new data revealed a staggering 26,000 traffic offences were detected in 2024 and more than 2,500 speeding tickets were issued.
Now all drivers in the city are being urged to drive responsibly as the Council launches a public consultation to introduce a further 15 traffic enforcement cameras across the city.
The expansion of the programme is part of the city’s ambitious commitment to eliminate all road deaths and serious injuries, as part of its Vision Zero 2040 goal.
In 2024, Liverpool recorded 14 collisions resulting in an injury whereby excessive speed was a contributing factor, five of these resulting in serious injuries.
Many of the locations for the proposed new cameras are around schools, where the potential for a serious incident is highest.
Give your opinions about the introduction of the new enforcement cameras by going online at

NEW BOOK LAUNCH: Warning: If you’re easily offended, morally outraged by a few swear words, or the kind of judgemental asshole who polices how women should behave after a certain age — then kindly shut this book and carry on living your safe, beige little life. This isn’t for you. Still here? Good. That tells me you’re one of the few with guts. A spark. A flicker of rebellion under the surface. Maybe you’re quietly fed up. Or maybe, like me, you’ve hit a point in your life where you’ve thought: “Is this it?” You’ve ticked all the boxes, played by the rules, been the good girl, the wife, the mother, the employee — and now you’re looking in the mirror wondering what the fuck happened to the woman you were before you made yourself smaller to fit in.This book is my middle finger to mediocrity. It’s about tearing up the script after 50, but it's for anyone who is ready to start again. Living life on your terms — no matter what anyone thinks. I left a marriage, rebuilt my body, reclaimed my confidence, and discovered that the second act can be even more thrilling than the first — if you’ve got the balls (or in my case, the boobs) to go for it.So if you’re ready to laugh, cry, wince, and maybe get a kick up the arse in the process — turn the page. Because you’re going to die.So do it anyway.
