I CAN MAKE YOU FAMOUS
Since 2016 when I set up AmandamossPR my tagline has been I can make you famous.
Not to be confused with I can turn you into a celebrity. Fame and celebrity are two very different things.
You don't need to be on television, walking red carpets or being photographed by paparazzi to be famous. Although you may get a few invitations to do just that when you work with me and that’s just the fun part.
Fame in business is about being known. Being recognised and remembered. Being the name that comes to mind when somebody needs exactly what you offer. I went to a meeting in Cyprus last week and the first thing they said was, “You’re Amanda Moss, we were told to talk to you.”
Fame is visibility, credibility and reputation. It's becoming the person people recommend and the business people talk about. It’s walking into a room exactly as I did and having somebody already know who you are because they've read about you, seen your work, heard your name or followed your journey.
Whenever I go to a networking event in Liverpool and mention Lifestyle magazine or the Lifestyle Awards, almost always someone has heard of them. That's brand recognition built over 18 years. It's what happens when you consistently show up, tell stories and put people in the spotlight. I don't need everyone to know my name. I need the right people to recognise what I do and understand what I can do for them. It's why I constantly network.
Business fame is being the first person somebody thinks of when an opportunity arises. And in today's competitive world it's also about being visible online, appearing in relevant media, building a digital footprint and making sure that when people search for your expertise, whether through Google, social media or AI tools, there is something meaningful for them to find. I had endless meetings with a potential client earlier in the year who wanted visibility but were reluctant to pay for PR. Their website had no google ranking, their founder story was non existent and they had no reviews. Why would anyone choose to work with them? The first thing someone does when they’re looking at spending money with someone is to google them and see their digital footprint, assess whether they’re trustworthy and reliable. PR does that. A business without fame is a business people forget.
You can turn to AI to write your biography. It can write your LinkedIn posts, blogs, your website copy and your social media content. It can even help you sound like the most impressive person in your industry but it can’t make you famous. It can generate words but it can't give you a reputation.
It can produce endless content but it can't replace the relationships, strategic thinking, media connections, positioning and experience required to get your name in front of the right people. Don't confuse the ability to generate content with the ability to build a name. And in a world where billions are fighting for the same platform I can help make the world take notice.
You can be brilliant at what you do and still be virtually invisible. You can have decades of experience, an exceptional product, a fantastic service or a story worth telling but if nobody knows about you how are they supposed to choose you?
Talent doesn't automatically attract attention. Hard work doesn't guarantee success and being good at what you do doesn't mean the right people will magically discover you.
And that's where I come in.I understand the difference between simply making noise and making an impression.
I've spent 37 years working across journalism, television, publishing, PR, digital and social media. I've seen how reputations are built, how stories capture attention and how the right exposure can change the way people perceive a person or a business.
My job isn't to make you a celebrity, it's to help make you known and give you a platform with a gigantic megaphone. Liverpool Fashion Week has launched hundreds of designers who showcased with me when they were unknown: Ngolela, Chanel Joan Elkayan, Karen Gold, Mandy Molby, Raine & Be, Margharita Fashion, Masato Jones, GoGairy Hand Painted Leathers, Sunsibility UV Protective Clothing to name but a few who have gone onto international and mainstream success. It’s given talented people an opportunity to be seen beyond their immediate circle, puts their work in front of new audiences and creates content and opportunities that can continue long after the show is over.
I never claim to create somebody's talent. I create opportunities for that talent to be seen. Famous for your expertise, your achievements, your story and the value you bring. I want people to recognise your brand and understand why you're the person they should be talking to. When this happens you stop having to explain who you are because people already know and opportunities start finding their way to you.
And that's what I mean when I say I can make you famous.
There used to be a restaurant in Liverpool which refused to advertise. their USP was “the best kept secret”. So confidential that no one really knew who they were or what they were about but it was no mystery why they closed down less than 2 years later.
Staying under wraps means exactly that. Invisibility isn't exclusivity, it's business suicide.
And with the Liverpool Lifestylewww.liverpoollifestyleawards.co.uk/ Awards and Liverpool Fashion Week just one month away, you bring the talent and the ambition and I’ll amplify it. Now who wants to be famous?

What constitutes a suitable post on LinkedIn?
Two days ago I posted about how I can go clubbing and still run a business. Someone commented it wasn't suitable for Linkedin and the irony wasn't lost on me. Alongside it was a pic of me and another said that I was screaming for attention. Thank you for noticing, isn't that the point to stand out?
LinkedIn is a platform for visibility and or personal branding. And for getting noticed. It’s for showing people who you are and what you do and that you’re not a beige corporate robot who spends their entire existence talking about KPIs and coffee.
Attention isn’t the enemy of credibility, invisibility is. Of course, there are posts that are inappropriate. I’m not suggesting we turn it into OF but who decided that talking about business, ambition, ageing, having a social life, looking good, going out, being a woman over 50 or refusing to behave exactly as people expect you to behave somehow makes your content less professional? My entire lifestyle model is built on those things and it’s thriving.
If my post made someone stop scrolling and form an opinion, good. And if anyone actually looks at what I actually do for a living, my business got the thing most businesses spend thousands trying to buy: Attention.
For the record it’s working, my platforms have a total of 300,000 views every month and as a writer I am always looking for fresh content to post which is then monetized.
I am currently building my autobiography ghostwriting business and what better way to present who I am than to keep blogging? Because if you’re going to trust someone to write your life story do you really want someone who has spent the last 20 years hiding behind a corporate headshot and a list of qualifications? Or do you want someone who has actually lived a rather interesting life?
Someone who has interviewed people, written stories, built businesses, raised children, moved abroad, taken risks, launched brands, survived changing media landscapes, reinvented herself and understands how to turn a life into a story people actually want to read?
That is what people buy when they work with me. They’re not just buying words, they’re buying experience, a personality and a voice from someone who knows what makes a story scroll-stopping. As for attention? That’s literally my job.
And if anyone is still confused about who I am and why I’m not particularly interested in fitting into your comfort zone, please read my book. It’s all in there.https://www.amazon.co.uk/Youre-Going-Die.../dp/B0FCTX9ZK5

WHY I WILL ALWAYS BE A SCOUSER
I have 2 homes in 2 countries but there's something about waking up in Liverpool that just feels cosy. And after spending so much time in Cyprus, returning to the city has reminded me of something: you can build a life anywhere, but your roots never really leave you.
I lead two very different lifestyles and two places that mean a lot to me but I'll always be a Scouser and yes, I was born here but grew up in London where I have no interest in returning to.
Waking up in Liverpool again has been a bit of a revelation. I was genuinely surprised by how much cleaner the city centre feels compared with the last time I visited.
Maybe it's because I've been away for so long or maybe it's because I'm looking at it with fresh eyes. But walking around Liverpool yesterday I found myself thinking that the city’s looking pretty cool. The streets are buzzing, it’s freshers week so there’s an air of excitement and a real energy that carries on well into the night.
It’s got a feel like New York, a city that is alive 24/7. A place where there's always someone heading somewhere, meeting friends, going out or simply enjoying what the city has to offer. And omg, the restaurants and bars!!! What a choice. I am genuinely excited to work my way through these over the coming months.
Liverpool has always had an enviable personality that people enjoy mocking, but being back and experiencing it again has made me appreciate the city in a different way.
I can wake up in Cyprus and enjoy a completely different pace of life, then find myself back in Liverpool, walking through the city centre and soaking up everything around me. The sound of live bands booming out from the bars, the incredible smells drifting from restaurants and street food, the buzz of people coming and going and of course a bit of good old-fashioned people watching. There’s something about simply wandering through Liverpool and taking it all in that feels familiar and exciting at the same time and both experiences are wonderful in completely different ways.
I'm a Scouser, wherever I happen to be living.
Waking up in the city hearing the seagulls who are bigger than my cats, seeing the streets alive and watching a new generation of students bring their own energy to Liverpool, I'm feeling incredibly proud of my city. And then there's the simple things that makes being back in Liverpool feel even more special, like slipping into a brand-new pair of Primark pyjamas at the end of the day, knowing that I'm moving into my own city centre apartment, where everything I could possibly need is right on my doorstep. M and S food court, the theatre, L1 shopping which is far superior than most european cities I have visited, the cinema… the list is endless.
I took my girls to school in a taxi yesterday and the driver was an Afghanistan refugee, who fled the war torn country 20 years ago at just 11 years old. He came to Liverpool alone and has built a life here, he has a family and works hard and while his story is incredibly inspiring (I have invited him to the Liverpool Lifestyle Awards,) it reminded me that Liverpool welcomes everyone.
It isn't just about being born here. It is about belonging here.
Liverpool has always had that ability to embrace different cultures and allow people to make the city their own. Because home isn't about where you started, just like your family may not be blood relatives. Sometimes it is about where you find your people, where you build your life and where you feel that you belong.
